Back in 2006, I started the site TEFLWatch. It was designed to provide a forum and outlet for people to talk about their experiences at different schools. It made quite a bit of impact but it only caught the people complaining and those actively searching for information on the school This left a lot to be desired. Basically, we only got the negative experiences.

In 2007, while running TEFLWatch, I started this site. The idea was simple: Post Job Ads and let people comment on the job ads. I would attempt to moderate personal attacks, but that was about it. I wanted teachers and potential teachers to be better informed about jobs advertised. Simple.

By 2010, I went away from TEFL and I started posting here less and less and there were years I would go between any job postings. I’ve always had my ear to the ground in online TEFL communities but I’ve also seen how many sites ahve died and Facebook has taken over. What that means is information is in a silo owned and moderated by one company along with group admins who may or may not have the best needs of the teachers in mind.

This is why I am bringing back this site. I’ve made many improvements to improve usability and usefulness. My goal is to help TEFL teachers worldwide with information on great jobs and the ability to give feedback on different jobs. This site is free to use and once I get a job posting form up, it will be free for schools to put up ads.

Enjoy!
