Chiba Language School is seeking a homeroom English teacher to join its team in Pingtung City. The school has operated for more than 40 years and supports both first-time and experienced teachers moving to Taiwan.

Start date: January 2027

Contract: One year

Schedule and Students

  • Monday–Friday only, with no evening or weekend classes
  • Fixed hours of 9:00–11:30 a.m. and 2:00–6:00 p.m.
  • Kindergarten and elementary-age students
  • Small classes of 5–12 students
  • Taiwanese co-teacher available for classroom-management support
  • Schedule, curriculum, and teaching materials provided

The working day includes lesson planning, school events, field trips, library and game time, snack and bathroom breaks, and parent pickup duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Passport from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand
  • Criminal-record check
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Ability to complete a one-year commitment
  • Interest in teaching English and working with children

Compensation and Benefits

  • NT$65,000 monthly salary
  • NT$1,000 monthly attendance bonus
  • NT$60,000 bonus upon successful contract completion
  • Free furnished accommodation within walking distance of the school; utility costs are shared by teachers
  • NT$5,000 for five days of paid training
  • Taiwan national holidays
  • Three paid days off after six months and seven paid days during a second-year contract

  • National Health Insurance and labor insurance
  • ARC work-visa support; the teacher is responsible for the related cost
