INCL English School is hiring a teacher for its network of schools in and around Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. The school has operated for more than 18 years and teaches learners from early childhood through adulthood, with most students between ages 4 and 14.

Responsibilities and Schedule

  • Teach English classes with two to six students
  • Collaborate on teaching materials and help organize school events and activities
  • Work five days per week, including Saturdays, with Sundays and one additional day off
  • Typical weekday shifts of 1:30–10:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday hours of 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Report to the Hamamatsu office and drive approximately 30 minutes to assigned schools

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Native-level English and at least 12 years of primary and secondary education conducted in English
  • Valid driver’s license from Japan or the applicant’s home country, or an international driving permit
  • Cheerful, patient, outgoing approach to working with children
  • Willingness to learn Japanese; Japanese ability is useful but not required

Prior professional teaching experience is not required. Experience working with children is an advantage, and the school provides one to two months of hands-on training.

Salary and Benefits

  • ¥260,000–¥280,000 per month
  • Approximately ¥100,000 bonus after completing one year
  • Seventy percent of the starting salary during the first one to two months of training
